My Next Diagnosis

I know the resolution isn’t the best, but this is a remarkable pic shortly before my dystonia started. My husband Kurt is on the left, I’m in the middle and my daughter Cloe is on the right. My eyes are open and I’m able to look right. That’s me at 37 before dystonia changed my features.

I’m not sure how much time pasted before I was officially diagnosed with cervical dystonia. Cloe noticed my head tilt to the left before I was officially diagnosed.

I have occipital neuralgia on the right side. My neck pulling was causing the occipital neuralgia to hurt even worse. My head tilts and pulls to the left. I have a difficult time turning my head to the right because my muscles won’t allow it. I’ve learned to compensate in daily tasks, like driving, by turning my body.

This is when I started searching the internet for dystonia. There are a lot of medical sites, but I couldn’t find any personal experiences. It’s common for adult onset of dystonia to affect an adjoining part of the body. So, it made sense that I have both blepharospams and cervical dystonia.
